Babucho Newcastle is an old favourite for Restaurant Week, I think it’s often a “first choice” for me when it comes around, as it’s quite easy for picky eaters! Tonight, I was joined by my housemate (again, See Wednesday) and my old University Girls. This therefore included One vegetarian, Two not-very-hungry-vegans, then a very ravenous Lucy and Me. We had spent today in two huge teams, having a very competitive game of Laser Tag, we were in dire need of some good grub.

The Gentleman is one of the newer cocktail bars that have cropped up around Newcastle as of recent. This one seems to inject a little bit of class back into Bigg Market. Isn’t Bigg Market coming along nicely now?! The Gentleman is a Cocktail & Live Music Bar. We were lucky enough to be serenaded with music when we were there – lovely!

Paradiso reminds me of those amazing non-chain, family run Italian restaurants that are hidden away and you only know about it – if you know about it.

Well, all that, except its a mix of Mediterranean and Italian and run by Giuseppe and Palmiro to be precise. You will probably find Paradiso through word of mouth rather than advertising campaigns splashed everywhere and voted 12 out of over 1000 places to eat in Newcastle, it must be doing something right.

I have a confession to make. I’ve lived in Newcastle-Upon-Tyne for a long time know, I pride myself with knowing many things about most places. Of course, I knew about Bealim House, I mean, LOOK AT IT, it’s a gin distillery! But, I’ve never actually been (come on though, it’s another new one!), even worse though, I couldn’t work out where it was, then couldn’t for the life of me work out how I’ve missed it! It’s beautiful!

Now this was somewhere I was really excited to visit. I’ve actually never been as it’s fairly new, it’s a part of the group that own the amazing Vermont Hotel and Bar Livello and is located in the prettiest part of Newcastle: The Quayside. Aveika is (yet another) Japanese cuisine restaurant, though I’m not complaining, any food that is Asian or Asian fusion, I’m all over it. View Post
